"I wish I could give zero stars. If you're doing anything other than arraigo social, just get a different lawyer. But if you choose to hire him, make sure to check in regularly about your immigration case. He let my second appeal expire by failing to check the status or following up in a timely manner then made it seem like this was actually a good thing because then we could apply for arraigo social. I had much better options which he failed to research. I was so scared but thankfully I hired another lawyer and now I'm happily awaiting my Spanish Nationality. My new lawyer even went with me to the Foreigner's office to find information on this second appeal but they had no record of it. The appeal was intended to buy me more time while providing me with some protection and some sense of legal presence in Spain. And then it lapsed without my knowledge. The last time we spoke on the phone, all he could tell me was that he called a buddy of his, who said if we hadn't heard back in a year then the appeal was likely denied. What??? Why was my old lawyer asking a friend about MY immigration case??? My current immigration lawyer walked me through the process of checking the status of my second appeal online and it never required phoning a friend. Of course we didn't find any files on me at all. My new lawyer advised me to file a report with the Colegio de Abogacia but I honestly, just don't have the time or the energy. I just don't want anyone else to feel the level of stress that I experienced. It should be noted that I did try to work this out with him but at no point was he willing to speak to me directly after giving me the news. He even had his assistant reply to all my emails. So clearly he knows he made a mistake. All he had to do was apologize and fix it or refund me the money that I paid for absolutely nothing. I have all my paperwork reviewed by my new lawyer to support everything that I have said here."
